We Believe...
- the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be
the verbally and plenarily inspired and inerrant Word
of God. We use the King James version.
- in the Trinitarian nature of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
as three distinct persons, yet one in being, essence, and power.
- in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was conceived
of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and became the incarnate
Son of God; Emmanuel, God with us.
- in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit.
- in the reality and personality of angels including Satan, the
great enemy of God and man.
- in the fall of man and his consequent depravity. Sin
is universal in man and exceedingly heinous to God. All men
are guilty and in a lost condition apart from Christ.
- in salvation by the sacrifice of Christ received by grace
through faith alone. We do not believe baptism, speaking in
tongues, receiving of sacraments, or any other means of works, either
saves or keeps a person saved.
(Romans
3:24-30,
4:3-8;
Ephesians
1:6-7;
2:8-9;
I
Peter 1:3-5)
He shed His blood to accomplish propitiation to
God, redemption from sin, and reconciliation of man. “Christ died
for us” and “bore our sins in His body on the tree.”
(I
Peter 2:24) - that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance
of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word. However,
the Bible clearly forbids the use of "Christian liberty" as an occasion
to the flesh. We also believe all who are truly saved are kept
saved forever.
(Romans
13:13-14;
Galatians
5:13;
Titus
2:11-15;
Hebrews
6:1-8;
John
5:24, 6:37, 10:27-29;
I
John 5:11-13) - that God gives a spiritual gift to each believer for the building up of the body of Christ.
(I
Peter 4:10;
Romans
12:3-8)
However,
we believe that speaking in tongues ceased with the completion
of the canon. Speaking in tongues is not a part of
our ministry. It is neither necessary nor beneficial for our
Christian life.
(I
Corinthians 13:8-10)
We are non-charismatic. Concerning healing,
we believe that God answers the prayers of His people and meets
their needs according to His purpose and plans.
(James
5)
- in the physical resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ
from the dead and His glorified bodily presence at the right hand
of God as our Advocate and only High Priest.
(Acts
1:9-10;
Romans
8:34;
I
Timothy 2:5.
Hebrews
7:25; 9:24;
I
John 2:12) - in the imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to receive His
church unto Himself.
(I
Thessalonians 4:13-18;
Revelation
4:1) - in the subsequent, visible and pre-millennial return of Christ
with His church, to establish his promised worldwide kingdom on
the earth.
(Zechariah
14:4-11;
I
Thessalonians 5:1-10;
Revelation
19:11-16, 20:1-6) - in the physical resurrection of all men, the saints to everlasting
joy and bliss, the wicked to conscious and eternal torment.
(Matthew
25:46;
John 5:28-29, 11:25-26;
Revelation
20:5, 6, 12, and 13)
