Born and raised in a Christian home, it was my privilege at the age of fifteen to receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. Although knowing the truth for many years, the challenges of my teenage years brought me to my knees in repentance. Having grown up in a home where we learned to work on all sorts of things from automobiles to home construction, it was natural for me to pursue a carpenter's apprenticeship right after school. My company kept encouraging me to go to college. I was reluctant, but did decide that it was for me. After two years at junior college studying engineering, I married Patricia Gould, who I had met at church. We ventured together to Texas A&M University where I finished my engineering degree, while she worked as a Registered Nurse. Graduation opened many doors. The Lord seemed to direct us to the Kansas City area. My job as an engineer for a concrete engineering company was significant, because it was through those years that I realized that my real calling was not working with "things" like I had thought, but working with people. As I look back, I can see how the Lord used even unsaved employers in business to direct me and move my heart into viewing people not as projects, but as His priority. At this important time, the Lord also directed us to Tri-City North Baptist Church, now Eagle Heights Baptist Church. In 1981, after my wife and I surrendered to full-time Christian service, an opportunity opened up to teach at Tri-City Christian School North. While beginning school administration preparation at Bob Jones University and Pensacola Christian College, in 1981 I began teaching 6th grade. The following year I became the North Supervisor. When Eagle Heights became autonomous I became the principal of Eagle Heights Christian School. I completed my Masters Degree in Educational Administration at Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Watertown, WI. I praise the Lord for his patience and faithfulness to me. All three of our sons have graduated from Eagle Heights Christian School and from Bible College. These 23 years of ministry have been exciting, as I've worked to build people instead of buildings, to the glory of God.
